Big Bale Buddy- Round bale feeder
What Is a Round Bale Feeder?
Traditional round bale feeders are usually made of metal rings or steel cages. They’re designed for cattle, not horses. While they hold a bale, they don’t control waste, they don’t slow intake, and they can create safety risks for horses who paw, climb, or push into the feeder.
Horses eat differently — they graze slowly, take smaller bites, and move around the bale. Metal feeders don’t support this natural behavior, and they often lead to wasted hay, injuries, and frustration.
This is why many horse owners look for a safer, horse‑specific round bale feeder alternative.
